Rachel Schooley, Occupational Therapist

Rachel Schooley is an occupational therapist who is a visitor on the Inuvialuit and Gwich’in lands of Inuvik, Northwest Territories, where she lives with her partner, two children and two dogs. Rachel graduated with a BA in Sociology and Women’s Studies from University of Guelph, followed by an MSc. in Occupational Therapy from McMaster University, where she received the OSOT New Graduate Award for Leadership and Advocacy in Occupational Therapy. Rachel is registered in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, and is a member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, including membership with CAOT Practice Networks for Occupational Therapy and Indigenous Health, and Addressing Suicide Prevention in Occupational Therapy Practice.

Rachel strives to maintain a practice that is client-centered, evidence based, trauma informed and recovery oriented, and is based in cultural safety and accessibility for all. Rachel has focused her career on providing mental health and addictions OT services, while also developing skills across all practice areas with recent experience as a generalist OT for several communities in the Beaufort Delta Region.

Rachel truly believes in the therapeutic benefits of meaningful activities in day-to-day life, and is dedicated to working with each client to increase occupational engagement and overall wellness.
